Quest guide (spoiler)
The Quest starts at Hairycles who is a ape NPC in Banuta. He is on a building in south Banuta. Here's the map of Banuta and the building is marked by a black circle: Go upstairs to find Hairycles. Mission 1: Whisper Moss To start the quest you will have to talk with Hairycles about a mission. Talk to him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: These are dire times for our people. Problems plenty are in this times. But me people not grant trust easy. Are you willing to prove you friend of ape people? You: Yes Hairycles: To become friend of ape people a long and difficult way is. We do not trust easy but help is needed. Will you listen to story of Hairycles? You: Yes Hairycles: So listen, little ape was struck by plague. Hairycles not does know what plague it is. That is strange. Hairycles should know. But Hairycles learnt lots and lots ... Hairycles: Me sure to make cure so strong to drive away all plague. But to create great cure me need powerful components ... Hairycles: Me need whisper moss. Whisper moss growing south of human settlement is. Problem is, evil little dworcs harvest all whisper moss immediately ... Hairycles: Me know they hoard some in their underground lair. My people raided dworcs often before humans came. So we know the moss is hidden in east of upper level of dworc lair ... Hairycles: You go there and take good moss from evil dworcs. Talk with me about mission when having moss. You: Bye Hairycles: Bye, bye. You will have to get the whisper moss located in the Dworc Caves. To get to the Dworc Caves you will have to go to Trapwood and fall into one of the holes there. The best hole to fall into is the closest to the Whisper moss. This map show the way there:  When you get down the hole you will have to kill Centipedes, Dworc Venomsnipers, Dworc Fleshhunters and Dworc Voodoomasters. If you are at the right location you should see the door and box behind the door if not you should look on this map:  Go behind the door and take the Whisper moss from the box.  Now return to Hairycles and talk to him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: Oh, you brought me whisper moss? Good hairless ape you are! Can me take it? You: Yes Hairycles: Ah yes! That's it. Thank you for bringing mighty whisper moss to Hairycles. It will help but still much is to be done. Just ask for other mission if you ready. Mission 2: Cough Syrup Now talk with Hairycles again about next mission. Talk with him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: Whisper moss strong is, but me need liquid that humans have to make it work ... Hairycles: Our raiders brought it from human settlement, it's called cough syrup. Go ask healer there for it. You: Bye Hairycles: Bye, bye. Now you will have to find Brewster that is in Port Hope temple. Check this map if you don't know where Port Hope temple is (the black circle is the location of Port Hope temple):  If you found Brewster you should talk with him about cough syrup. Talk with Brewster about cough syrup like this: You: Hi Brewster: G...greetings . You: Cough Syrup Brewster: The only person who might have some cough syrup is this druid Ustan. You find him in the tavern. Hmmm the tavern ... You: Bye Brewster: Exactly! After you talked to Brewster go to Port Hope tavern that is close to the temple. Here's the location of the Tavern:  If you go up by the ladder you should find Ustan. Talk with him like this: You: Hi Ustan: Crunor's blessing, traveller. You: Cough Syrup Ustan: I had some cough syrup a while ago. It was stolen in an ape raid. I fear if you want more cough syrup you will have to buy it in the druids guild in carlin. You: Bye Ustan: Good bye, traveller. Now you need to get to Carlin Druid guild where you need to find Padriela. Here's the location of Carlin druid guild:  You will find Padriela inside the building. Talk with Padriela like this to get cough syrup: You: Hi Padreia: Welcome to our humble guild, wanderer. May I be of any assistance to you? You: Cough Syrup Padreia: Do you want to buy a bottle of cough syrup for 50 gold? You: Yes Padreia: Thank you. Here it is. You: Bye Padreia: Farewell. Now return to Hairycles and talk to him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: You brought me that cough syrup from human healer me asked for? You: Yes Hairycles: You so good! Brought syrup to me! Thank you, will prepare cure now. Just ask for mission if you want help again. Mission 3: Lizard Parchment Now talk with Hairycles again like this: You: Mission Hairycles: Little ape should be healthy soon. Me so happy is. Thank you again! But me suspect we in more trouble than we thought. Will you help us again? You: Yes Hairycles: So listen, please. Plague was not ordinary plague. That's why Hairycles could not heal at first. It is new curse of evil lizard people ... Hairycles: I think curse on little one was only a try. We have to be prepared for big strike ... Hairycles: Me need papers of lizard magician! For sure you find it in his hut in their dwelling. It's south east of jungle. Go look there please! Are you willing to go? Player: Yes Hairycles: Good thing that is! Report about your mission when have scroll. You: Bye Hairycles: Bye, bye. You will have to get to Lizard city to find the parchment. The easiest way to get there is by going from Ankrahmun and the mountain way. You can also use the jungle way. To get to Lizards from Ankrahmun mountain you have to walk like this (you will meet Slimes, Elephants and other jungle creature and possible lured Hydra and if you cross the river you will meet Lizard Templars and Lizard Sentinels):  After you reached the ramp leading up you should go up. Then go east until you find the next ramp and go up 2 times. Then go south to the ramp leading down. Then continue past the bat cave and down again. Then go down again. You will have to walk south towards the south part lizard city and expect that you need to kill every Lizard type, Crocodiles, Centipedes, Cobras and Spit Nettles.  Walk until you get to the building and you will see a door with a box behind it. Take the Lizard Parchment from the box.  Now return to Hairycles and talk to him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: You got scroll from lizard village in south east? You: Yes Hairycles: You brought scroll with lizard text? Good! I will see what text tells me! Come back when ready for other mission. Mission 4: Parchment Decyphering To start this mission talk with Hairycles like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: Ah yes that scroll. Sadly me not could read it yet. But the holy banana me insight gave! In dreams Hairycles saw where to find solution ... Hairycles: Me saw a stone with lizard signs and other signs at once. If you read signs and tell Hairycles, me will know how to read signs ... Hairycles: You go east to big desert. In desert there city. East of city under sand hidden tomb is. You will have to dig until you find it, so take shovel ... Hairycles: Go down in tomb until come to big level and then go down another. There you find a stone with signs between two huge red stones ... Hairycles: Read it and return to me. Are you up to that challenge? You: Yes Hairycles: Good thing that is! Report about mission when you have read those signs. You: Bye Hairycles: Bye, bye. Now you will have to get to Ankrahmun. The easiest way to get there is by travelling by the boat from Port Hope. When you reached Ankrahmun walk to the east gate. From there walk like this map show:  After you reached the place you should dig up the tomb by digging some at the right spot. Go down few times and continue past the cave rats and then go down twice. Then walk to the next floor by walking a bit west like this:  After you went down you will have to walk south and then east like this map shows (you might have to kill Ghouls, Scarabs, Mummies, Crypt Shlambers and Fire Devils on the way):  You will reach a place with 2 stones and you should go between them.  Now you should go back to Hairycles and talk to him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: Ah yes, you read the signs in tomb? Good! May me look into your mind to see what you saw? You: Yes Hairycles: Oh, so clear is all now! Easy it will be to read the signs now! Soon we will know what to do! Thank you again! Ask for mission if you feel ready. Mission 5: Hydra Egg Talk with Hairycles for this mission: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: So much there is to do for Hairycles to prepare charm that will protect all ape people ... Hairycles: You can help more. To create charm of life me need mighty token of life! Best is egg of a regenerating beast as a hydra is ... Hairycles: Bring me egg of hydra please. You may fight it in lair of Hydra at little lake south east of our lovely city Banuta! You think you can do? You: Yes Hairycles: You brave hairless ape! Get me hydra egg. If you lose egg, you probably have to fight many, many hydras to get another. You: Bye Hairycles: Bye, bye. For this mission you will have to get a Hydra Egg. To get a Hydra Egg you got 3 options: * Making Hydra Egg Quest. * Looting Hydra Egg in Hydra. * Getting from other players (buying). Tip: You can get the hydra egg before this mission to save time. When you got the Hydra Egg get back to Hairycles and talk to him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: You bring Hairycles egg of hydra? You: Yes Hairycles: Ah, the egg! Mighty warrior you be! Thank you. Hairycles will put it at safe place immediately. Mission 6: Witches Cap Mushroom To start this mission talk with Hairycles: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: Last ingredient for charm of life is thing to lure magic. Only thing me know like that is mushroom called witches cap. Me wastold it be found in isle called Fibula, where humans live ... Hairycles: Hidden under Fibula is a secret dungeon. There you will find witches cap. Are you willing to go there for good ape people? You: Yes Hairycles: Long journey it will take, good luck to you. You: Bye Hairycles: Bye, bye. You will need key #3940 for this mission. You can get it later in Fibula if you don't got it. If you don't know where Fibula is you should use this map that goes from Thais to the entrace of the Fibula tunnel:  Now if you go down it shouldn't be hard to find the way to Fibula. Just continue west and use the stairs. After you reached Fibula you can first go buy the key from Dermot for 2000gp or from Simon the Beggar for 800gp or you can go to Fibula duegon by entering the well. Use this map for it:  After entering the duegon go like this map show (open the door with the key if it isn't open:  Now go south like this map show:  At this floor you might have to kill Skeletons, Beholders and maybe Demon Skeleton. Follow this map to find the location of the Witches Cap Mushroom.  Go behind the door and take the Witches Cap Mushrooms.  Now return to Hairycles and talk to him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Oh! Hello! Hello! Did not notice! You: Mission Hairycles: You brought Hairycles witches cap from Fibula? You: Yes Hairycles: Incredible, you brought a witches cap! Now me can prepare mighty charm of life. Yet still other missions will await you,friend. Mission 7: Destroying Casks with Red Fluid To start this mission talk with Hairycles like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Be greeted, friend of the ape people. If you want to trade, just ask for my offers. If you are injured, ask for healing. You: Mission Hairycles: Mighty life charm is protecting us now! But my people are still in danger. Danger from within ... Hairycles: Some of my people try to mimic lizards to become strong. Like lizards did before, this cult drinks strange fluid that lizardsleft when fled ... Hairycles: Under the city still the underground temple of lizards is. There you find casks with red fluid. Take crowbar and destroy three of them to stop this madness. Are you willing to do that? You: Yes Hairycles: Hairycles sure you will make it. Good luck, friend. You: Bye Hairycles: Bye, bye. For this mission you will need a Crowbar. If you already got a Crowbar you should go down 2 times so you get to the ground floor of Banuta. Then go down by the stairs near Hairycles. You will have to kill alot apes in the underground. Walk like this map show:  After you went down by the stairs prepare to fight even more apes because there are alot apes on this floor. Walk like this map shows:  Now if you went like this map shown you should start destroying casks by using crowbar. You will need to destroy 3 casks.  There are 7 casks so if you are more than 2 players you will have to wait for floor respawn (5~ mins). After you destroed the casks get back to Hairycles and start next mission. Mission 8: The hair of the Holy Giant Ape. To start this mission return to Hairylcles and talk to him like this: You: Hi Hairycles: Be greeted, friend of the ape people. If you want to trade, just ask for my offers. If you are injured, ask for healing. You: Mission Hairycles: You do please Hairycles again, friend. Me hope madness will not spread further now. Perhaps you are ready for other mission. You: Mission Hairycles: Now that the false cult was stopped, we need to strengthen the spirit of my people. We need a symbol of our faith that apepeople can see and touch ... Hairycles: Since you have proven a friend of the ape people I will grant you permission to enter the forbidden land ... Hairycles: To enter the forbidden land in the north-east of the jungle, look for a cave in the mountains east of it. There you will find theblind prophet ... Hairycles: Tell him Hairycles you sent and he will grant you entrance ... Hairycles: Forbidden land is home of Bong. Holy giant ape big as mountain. Don't annoy him in any way but look for a hair of holy ape ... Hairycles: You might find at places he has been, should be easy to see them since Bong is big ... Hairycles: Return a hair of the holy ape to me. Will you do this for Hairycles? You: Yes Hairycles: Hairycles proud of you. Go and find holy hair. Good luck, friend. You: Bye Hairycles: Bye, bye. This is one of the hardest missions. You will have to get to Forbidden Land and get to the north part of it. In forbidden land there are some Hydras, 7-9 Behemoths, 9-11 Giant Spiders, Carniphillas, Stone Golems and other jungle creatures. Before making this mission make sure you are able to do it alone or get a team. Walk from Hairycles like this to reach The Blind Prophet that can transport you to Forbidden Land:  Say these things to get teleported to Forbidden Land: Hi, Transport, Yes. Now you will be teleported into a place inside the mountain. There will be teleporter back here but go down by the ramp. From now on it might be a bit hard but it's easier when walking close to the wall. If you walk close to the wall you will have to kill maybe 5 Giant Spiders and only 1 or 2 Behemoths. Walk like this:  After you followed the map you need to a find a large footprint. Take use on it to get the Ape Hair.  Now return to Hairycles for reporting this mission and starting next mission. Mission 9: The Statue of the Snake God. This mission is as much as the trickiest and the hardest mission, it will also be the most time consuming quest. Go to Hairycles and ask him for a mission.
You have recieved the Snake Destroyer from Hairycles, make sure you don't loose it! if you do, you can't finish the quest. This mission will need about 20 people, mainly needed for respawn blocking and pulling the switches, only a small team is needed to kill the creatures, 2 decent blockers and shooters should be enough. Follow the first map to the deeper catacombes of Banuta:  You will find all kinds of apes on the way, and in the last room there is a teleporter, it will take you to the Amphora room, the room you appear in has 1 Elder Beholder, 2 Beholders and several Gargoyles.  This floor can be annoying, there are 4 amphoras and a teleport, the amphoras must be destroyer(with a melee weapon) and then the teleport gets activated for about 3 minutes. The amphoras are far away from the teleport, you must use your fastest runners to go there and to block respawn. here is a map:  Room 1: 1 Efreet, 3 Stone Golems, several Gargoyles Room 2: 1 Efreet, several Stone Golems Room 3: 2 Efreet Room 4: 2 Green Djinn, several Stone Golems, Bonebeasts and Gargoyles, 1 Amphora Room 5: 2 Green Djinn, several Stone Golems, Bonebeasts and Gargoyles Room 6: 1 Elder Beholder, 2 Beholders, 1 Amphora Room 7: Several Stone Golems, Gargoyles and Bonebeasts Room 8 north: 1 Efreet Room 8 south: 2 Green Djinn, 1 Amphora Room 9 north: 1 Green Djinn, 2 Stone Golem Room 9 south: 1 Green Djinn, several Gargoyles, 1 Amphora Room 10(entire passage starting from nr. 3): 3 Beholders, 3 Green Djinn, 4 Efreet, teleport to the Serpent Spawn floor. The blackened numbers require spawnblocking, the blue circles indicate the Amphoras. First, take your team to room 10 as shown in the map, place the respawn blockers in the rooms 1, 2, 3 and 10 on the way there. now, make teams of 2 persons each to go to the amphoras. Example: the 2 people that go to the amphora in room 8 will need 1 spawn blocker north, and the amphora-breaker south. same goes with room 9, 4, and 6. Once you all arrived at your amphora, open a private chat channel for those at the amphoras, and count down when to break the amphoras. Once broken, cast hast spell, put on your boh's and time rings and RUN to room 10 to go to the Serpent Spawn Floor. If correct, the main team stayed in room 10 and is already in, make sure the respawn blockers of this room dont go in untill the people from the farrest away amphora have returned. If you succed, you appear in this room:  Nothing spawns in this room, but dont walk to far to the north or you might lure something. Here is a map of the room.  Room 1: 3 Giant Spiders Room 2: 1 Hydra, 2 Serpent Spawns Room 3: 5 Hydra's, 4 Serpent Spawns Room 4: 3 Serpent Spawns, several Bonebeasts Room 5: 4 Serpent Spawns Room 6: 2 Hydra's Room 7: 2 Serpent Spawns Room 8: 1 Hydra, 3 Serpent Spawns Room 9: 1 Hydra, 2 Serpent Spawns The blue circles indicate the switches, and the passages between the rooms have several Bonebeasts. The thing you have to do here is about the same as the amphora room, but with more and harder creatures, and more switches instead of amphoras. The best way to do this is to follow the maps and to place respawn blockers in every room. The first room would need 2 respawn blockers, 1 of them should pull the switch later(NOT NOW!), keep following the map untill you arrive at the next switch, there is 1 Serpent Spawn here, place 2 respawn blockers here, 1 on top of the switch, and another at the place where the 3 passages meet. Now, follow the map to the north, there is 1 Serpent Spawn on this way, kill it and move on. Now you are in room 2, there is no switch here, but you will need respawn blockers here, place 2 on each side of the room. Now, go south, this room is the most dangerous of all, try to lure the creatures 1 by one.  This room will need about 5 respawn blockers, 1 in each corner and 1 in the middle on top of the switch. If you got more then enough people, its not a bad idea to place 2 extra in this room to the west and east of the switch. Go north again following the map, the next room can be difficult to block, because it's hard here to let the Serpent Spawns face the other way here.  There is another switch in this room, place 3 respawn blockers in this room, and continue south. This place(Room 5) is very dangerous, the statue's block the way and makes it difficult for the blockers to stand diagonal from the Serpent Spawns, so watch out with this! The best way would be to lure the Serpent Spawns away from the statue room:  This room requires no respawn blocking, because you wont return here anymore, continue to the next 2 rooms, they both have a switch, so both need respawn blocking, 2 in each room will do. Once again, these rooms are hard to turn the creatures away from the shooters:   The next room(Room 8) is very hard to lure the serpent spawns 1 by one, but try it anyway, make sure you follow the map using the south passage in this room, its not needed to block respawn here, this is the last bit of the quest and will go fast enough to make sure there is no backspawn.  Also watch out with retargets.  Lure the creatures from Room 9 1 by one, once all is dead go into the room, tell the people who are at the switches to pull the switch. When all the switches are pulled, the person at the second switch must go inside the room of wich the opening just appeared, inside is another switch, a master switch. Now, you people at room 9 must go and get the people from room 6 and 7, then you walk directly to the east and get the people from room 1, then go to room 3, pick all the people who are blocking respawn there, then go to room 4(leave the people in room 2!) and get them aswell, then you can all go back to the quest room. Inside this room is the Snake Statue that must be broken with your Snake Destroyer.  Break it.  You can also go and watch the lvl 999 door here.  You are now done with the quest, all you need to do now is go back to the teleport in the room where you arrived, this will take you to the apes room with the teleport to deeper banuta, now follow this map the other way around to get to Hariycles again. Now, talk with him about your mission
